Jessica Obeid is a former resident fellow with the Energy, Environment and Resources Department at Chatham House in London. Before that she served as Chief Energy Engineer for the United Nations Development Programme in Beirut. She is currently an independent consultant advising governments and international organisations on energy and political economy in the Middle East. She has published widely and provided expert commentary in leading media outlets. Jessica is also a US State Department TechWomen fellow and UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office International Leaders fellow, and has participated in missions in various countries. She was recognised by the International Business Times as one of the 10 Emerging Tech Women in the Middle East and North Africa and as an Outstanding Alumna by the US State Department Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Jessica holds a master’s degree in Political Science specialising in diplomacy and strategic negotiations, and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Lebanese American University.
