Khalid is the Head of GPG MENA Regional Office in Amman. He provides strategic leadership to GPG’s work in the MENA region and technical, managerial and operational oversight of GPG programmes in the region.
Khalid has more than 8 years of progressive technical experience in democratic governance and supporting the development of political institutions and political representations, focusing on strengthening parliaments, local government and decentralisation processes as well as building the capacity of political parties and civil society in the Middle East and North Africa. His profile is enriched by a comprehensive experience in the development and media sectors including working with UNDP in Syria and the Associated Press Television News (APTN) in London.
Khalid holds an MA in Global Media & Post National Communication from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). His studies focused on the media and its relationship to development, civil society and social movements. He also holds a BA in Business Administration and Public Relations from London South Bank University.
He is bilingual English /Arabic, and has an intermediate knowledge of Italian.
