Professor Ricardo de João Braga

Ricardo de João Braga is a Professor of the Masters program in Legislative Power at Centro de Formação, Treinamento e Aperfeiçoamento (CEFOR) in the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies. Previously, he worked for party leaderships in the Chamber of Deputies and for the Executive Branch, specifically the Ministries of Finance, Social Security, and Environment. He obtained his PhD in Political Science from Instituto de Estudos Sociais e Políticos (IESP), Rio de Janeiro State University in 2011. His research interests are located in legislative studies, comparative politics, and the relationship between economics and politics, with a special focus on Brazil´s democratic periods (1946-1964 and post 1985). The most common key words in his works are political representation, legislative process, and Brazil´s Chamber of Deputies.
