Sadiya joined GPG in November 2019 as Head of Operations and Business Development. She oversees GPG’s operations, business systems and its business development processes.
Sadiya has over 15 years experience in business development/fundraising and programme design in an array of sectors including human rights, peacebuilding, community-based philanthropy and the arts, with a wide-range of specialist donor expertise including institutional, trust and foundational, corporate and major donor giving. She has developed funding relationships with various donor agencies including DFID and the FCO, Irish Aid, USAID, Norwegian MFA, Netherlands MFA, Swiss FDFA, Global Affairs Canada, and the German FFO. She also possesses a background in strategic planning and organisational management.
Prior to joining GPG, she was Head of Partnerships and Development at Conciliation Resources, where she was responsible for doubling the organisation’s income and securing a £12m DFID UKAC grant, the largest ever grant ever held by the organisation. She also worked as Head of Fundraising at Minority Rights Group International, where she developed it’s Egypt, Mauritania and Religious Minorities programme, and delivered several programme design trainings, including at the UN for over 50 participants of its Interregional Capacity Building Programme. She currently serves as trustee of a local mosque, where she specialises in governance and strategic development, as well as ensuring compliance with its charitable objects and Charity Commission requirements.
Sadiya holds a Masters degree in NGO Management from Cass University. She is fluent in English and is currently working on refining her Arabic and French language skills.
