Preventing growth in trafficking of women and girls during the COVID-19 emergency and its aftermath

What: An online high-level dialogue with participants from the UK, Sudan, Kenya and the Gulf chaired by Global Partners Governance. The focus of the dialogue will be to map the risks of an increase in TIP for women and girls as a result of primary and secondary effects of COVID-19, and how to alleviate them.  

Why: There is a need for policy makers to discuss how COVID-19 has impacted and will impact  trafficked women and girls and how secondary economic impacts may make more women and girls vulnerable to trafficking. The geographical focus of the dialogue will be on existing migratory routes within the Horn of Africa, Sudan, the Gulf and UK.
